How to String a Dulcimer

Place the loop of the string over the first brass nail.
Place the bridge so that it slants up and away from the nails.
Pull the string through the first slot in the nut.
Turn the first tuning peg so that the hole faces up.
Slide the string through the hole of the first peg.
Wrap the string around the post counter clockwise and pull up.
Tuck the string over itself and down between the string and the wood.
Pull the string down tight.
Turn the post clockwise so the string wraps over the loop you made.
Keep turning the peg to pull the string tight against the post.
Turn the post until you can see the string wrapped over itself.
