The Insets for Design - Exercises 4 & 5

EXERCISE 4:

 

The teacher shows the child how to make designs using more than one shape. For example, the design below uses both the oval and elipse rotated 90 degrees. The child can use frames or insets to design patterns which he then colors in.

EXERCISE 5:

 

The teacher can suggest to the child that he color his design in shades of one color.
