PREPARING FOOD

USING A GRATER

MATERIAL

EXERCISE

The teacher and child will get the materials and clean a carrot. The teacher shows the child how to hold the grater on the board and rub the carrot up and down a coarse side of the grater. When the carrot has been grated, she shows him or her how to spoon the grated carrot into the bowl and grate another carrot.
 
This exercise can be varied on different days using other foods which need grating in turn and using the appropriate side of the grater for each.
